Chris Estey

Chris Estey is a Seattle-based journalist and publicist who has been writing for Three Imaginary Girls since 2006. He's worked in various positions at several successful independent record labels before and after joining TIG. He was the editor-in-chief of the critically acclaimed BANDOPPLER Magazine before becoming publicist for The Black Angels and The Saturday Knights at Light In The Attic Records, also handling their reissues for Betty Davis and Karen Dalton. He's conducted interviews, written columns and reviews, and performed contributing editing tasks for City Arts, The Rocket, The Stranger, Sound, Paste, Seattle Weekly, and other publications. His long review for Phil Ochs Greatest Hits was reprinted in Da Capo's Best Music Writing 2010. Currently handling PR for Light In The Attic Records to help promote Rhino Handmade Deluxe Edition reissues, and their mututal release with Fantagraphics Books, the anthology Listen, Whitey! by Pat Thomas. He also writes bios for and consults with bands, and personally represents Seattle group Eighteen Individual Eyes. He is the publicist for Flat Field Records, for the SpokAnarchy DVD/CD and the reissue of the first Vampire Lezbos album, with new bands to come from the label. He's also done rock and roll comics with David Lasky (in two editions of the anthology Hotwire from Fantagraphics), and has also published over two dozen personal zines.
