TIG is honored to help present a very special benefit show. It's called Dancing on the Valentine and it's a Leukemia benefit featuring loads of great Seattle bands, including CENTRAL SERVICES, C'MON C'MON, THE FEMURS, THE HOTELS, BRE LOUGHLIN, MS. LED, PETER PARKER, RICHARD MOUNTAIN (MEMBERS OF THE COPS) and DJ DANGER NUN.
The show is presented by (and in honor of) our good pal Jenny George, who was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 12 and was not expected to live more than 30 days. Luckily, Jenny proved the prognosis wrong, and we're grateful for Jenny's presence in our lives every day.
DANCING ON THE VALENTINE began in 2004 as a way to celebrate Jenny's 30th birthday while supporting a cause important to her and those who love her. The first two benefit shows have each raised over $3,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society... and have been a great celebration to boot!
We know this year's benefit will be the best one ever, with a stellar lineup of local bands playing a flashback-to-high-school Valentine's Day dance circa 1985! Bring your valentine to Nectar Lounge this year, or come stag and find your next sweetheart at the show.
The deets:
What: Dancing on the Valentine 3 -- A 1985 Valentines Day Dance
When: Valentine's Day, of course. Doors at 8p.
Where: Nectar Lounge - 412 N. 36th Street in Fremont
Why: Woo your sweetheart. Find a new heartthrob. And help us raise money for a great cause.
Tickets: $10 at the door, 21+
For more information, please go to the Dancing on a Valentine MySpace page.
TIG hearts you.

I found out last night that there are going to be three versions of this poster! Rick (Seattle Show Posters) is printing a blue flower, a red flower, and a green flower version. Let's not even talk about the metallic black screen on black paper part. Of course, there will be limited edition prints of the poster available for purchase at the show. ZOW!

Thanks, Liz. Yes, there will be some on sale at the show, and all the money will go towards the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
This is the most challenging poster I've done ina while, with the different versions, metallics, underprints, etc... Whoo!

Thanks for all the kind words, Dana! The show is just a week away, and it is shaping up to be totally awesome. We will have Prom-Style Photography available to reinforce the school dance theme, so your formal wear in the style of '85 or earlier is very, very welcome. But, we like you how you are, so even if you don't have a fancy outfit, it will still be a great time for anyone who attends. We will also have a raffle to further benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, with various fabulous prizes! For those of you who like to make reservations for your Valentine's Day plans, you can pay for admission ahead of time at Brown Paper Tickets, with a very reasonable service charge.
Thanks to all for your support!
