Tonight in Seattle:

The Croc is re-opening! For reals! {I think}

I've been hearing rumors buzzing for the past few days, and now this blog post from Hannah Levin over at Seattle Weekly has me giddy with joy. Holy crap, it's so exciting that I'm just gonna show you the whole thing right here:

Well, even though I haven't gotten official word from the man himself (call me back, mister!), I'd say this photographic evidence speaks volumes. This is a picture of Marcus Charles inside the Crocodile taken just last Saturday by local photographer David Choe (a.k.a. "Invisible Hour", who is supposedly documenting the reopening process:

And Jim Anderson back behind the sound booth!:

I've spoken with Charles briefly and he assures me all will be revealed soon and that "a friendly voice and face" are involved. Intriguing. I'll post more news as I have it.

I can't wait to hear the update and find out who's behind the reopening. Anyone out there in imaginary-land know??

This is the best imaginary news I've heard in ages! I'm all a-wootin' over here for the Croc! Wait till Liz gets back from Korea and hears the good news...

Splendid! I had hoped that when were reporting on the website and such that SOMEONE would put it back into action!

That is wonderful news!

According to the website, The Raveonettes are playing on Sat. 9/27. I would say that I am definitely going but I'm pretty sure I already was there.

My sweetheart and I met at the Crocodile, and I'm thrilled to know we'll be able to see incredible shows there once again. Huge thanks to everyone who made this possible!!

It's true! Rejoice and behold the full update over here:

Huzzah!! My sweetheart and I also met at the Croc. Oh happy, happy day!!

I'm already dreaming about who should play the opening. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also -- I sure hope they invest in a decent website. The Croc deserves an awesome online presence!

Speaker Speaker was very saddened by the closing of the Croc. It was our favorite place to play in Seattle. We couldn't be happier to hear the news.

WOOOOOOOOOOT! This *is* the best news all day! (Well, second to the fact that we get to move back in to our house after extensive remodels!)

The sun's a-shinin'!

This is so wonderful! I hope that I will meet my sweetheart at the new croc! Sheesh it'll be the next generation of Croc-love!

Finally!

I was so sad to see the Croc close it's doors. My wife and I have a special place for it as we renewed our vows after 10 years on stage before the Divorce's final show there in '07.

I can't wait to start seeing shows there again.

Had my first dinner date with my wife there too. Ken Stringfellow played a solo acoustic set, but she was too young to go into the club, so I watched him cover "Beyond Belief" and we split early.

im so glad! the crocodile cafe was one of the first places i ever went to in seattle and i was sad to see it go (especially walking by and seeing it trashed inside). hoping it wont be too different there when it reopens

Conflicting information abounds!?!?!
That same day "we" were told by "insiders" that there were shows already booked in late December and most of January, as well...
Regardless, it'll be wonderful to have access to Jim Anderson again but it sure won't be the same.
We'll take Tofu Scrambles over toity, over-priced pizza ANY day!!

WOOT!! I can come back to visit Seattle in Dec and pretend the closing was all a bad dream...a horrible dream.

This just in ... Eli and Roy are heading up the team Crocodile!

Perfection. There is hope!
