Tonight in Seattle:

I almost feel sorry for them

My pal Big Jack just sent this my way:

"I almost feel sorry for them. After 8 years of unbridled power and control, they can't even keep track of their hypocrisy anymore."

This book was published in 2006 by a Republican public relations consultant who has served in three Republican presidential administrations, most notably as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs under Donald Rumsfeld.

Lipstick on a Pig

I wish I had a pithy comment here to communicate the depths of this hypocricy, but nope.

I know. I'm speechless. Yesterday all I posted was the word lipstick.

Imaginary Dana - while I think the GOP's attempt to spin Obama's comment is completely f'd up, I'm not sure this book really says anything one way or the other.

I don't think the GOP ever claimed that the phrase "Lipstick on a Pig" was inherently wrong, did they? Weren't they claiming that Obama was specifically referring to Palin (which he was clearly not)? I.e. Palin was "the pig".

Therefore, the fact that a Republican wrote a book with the title "Lipstick on a Pig" is not really hypocritical unless the pig in the title refers to a specific woman (and a democrat), whicH I don't think it does.

I could be wrong. I certainly don't mean to defend the McCain campaign - just want us on the Obama side to be accurate in our criticism or it's just so much noise.
