Any day now, we're getting that VP Obamagram text, right? Any.... minute.... now...
I predict the text is coming between 10-11a PT, today.
I'm hoping the VP candidate is HRC, believe it or not. I'm guessing it's Biden (I'm also AOK with him). But c'mon, Obama! I'm dyin' over here.
Bravo to Team Obama for all the anticipation! With all the excitement and the fantastic lickity-split response to McCain's gaffe yesterday, I feel like we're at the bottom of what will be a huge upward trajectory of a well-played (and hopefully, successful) campaign.
What do you all think? Is the suspense killing you too? Who do you think/hope will be the nominee?

Why am I hoping it's Sen. Clinton...??? Have I lost what's left of my Porkchop-addled mind?

I think you're right... but I'll bet on the 11a-12p PST time slot. Go Delaware Blue Hens!

I'm pretty sure its going to be Al Sharpton.

So much for thinking it might be Hillary...
I'm a little disappointed, but also glad to see that apparently Obama can hold a grudge even better than I can.

On the other side, the rumor is that McCain has settled on Mitt Romney. Oh how I hope and wish and pray that that is true. Romney is a shameless whore and that's obvious from miles away.
It's funny that I don't think Hillary would be the best veep candidate (although I thought - and still do - that she was the best presidential candidate). I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for Joe Biden.

I don't know who it is, but no way it's Biden. Mark my words!

3:23p and still nada! Damnit. I'm extremely veep-curious!
@Levi--why no to Biden? Have you got an inside scoop, or just a hunch?

Looks like probably tomorrow morning . . .
Mainly a hunch, combined with the fact that I really can't imagine a double-Senator bill, you know? Gotta be a governor or congressperson or something.

I sure hope it's not Biden! He's a fireball! But there's a theory Obama needs to pick a rascal to combat the dirty politics McCain is slinging...

SO Biden's official and I didn't get a text???
11 imaginary dana said on August 23, 2008
Yah, me neither.
Gotta say - I'm glad it's finally Biden. I'm really disappointed they botched the whole "be the first to know" text message announcement. What a letdown for all the tech-savvy people who were so excited to find out first!
Don't get me wrong, I'm still whole-heartedly supporting the ticket... but meh on the anti-climatic announcement, that's what I say.
Now moving on: igLiz, are you flipping out that it's a Veep from your homestate??? Does this mean your family might actually vote Democrat this time? ;)

All right, I'm eating my words.
I did get an e-mail at 1:51 am, though, so I guess us old-fashioned types won out over the texty folks. Pardon me while I stifle a Nelsonian "HAW-haw!"

I don't know what you guys are talking about, we received a text message to our phones at 1 in the am.
14 Jon Harthun said on August 23, 2008
Yeah, but it was all over the news at 9:30ish the night before...
...granted I wasn't signed up for the texts to begin with.
15 ChrisB said on August 23, 2008
It's too bad that this was botched (many of those texts still haven't been delivered) and all those people who gave their phone numbers are now fair game for getting hit up for money and reminders to vote (and possibly good deals on subscriptions to The Nation or memberships to PBS and NPR).
I do think that it would have been smarter to announce this earlier in the week because that would have given Obama a few extra days to have good news coverage going into the conventions and with the way the campaign has been going since he got back to the US, he needs all the good press he can get.
Still, though, I don't think that that will be what makes or breaks this campaign. Now Obama and Biden can get to what they should have been doing for months now: kicking John McCain's ass.

I find it baffling that you guys/girls get so excited by this guy and his "middle of the road" politics...nor do I buy into the lesser of 2 evils concept...you guys do realize that there is absolutely no chance (barring McCain dying)that he can win?
