Before we let 2010 come to a close and we start building out our tops of the year lists, we wanted to share a few more songs that we have been listening to on repeat throughout the month. You can listen to a stream of the podcast below or download the MP3 version of the podcast on the imaginary bandcamp page.
If you are the type that likes to listen to podcasts in itunes, download the .m4a file here {it's one single file with fancy chapter markers!} and then open it in your itunes {big thanks to Jigsaw Records and Indie Pages for hosting the file!}.
Tracklisting: Imaginary Mixtape - December 2010 {part 4}
Eux Autres - "Jamais" from the album Broken Bow
Released in late November, Eux Autres's newest album has been on high rotation for the last couple weeks and I still haven't figured out what my favorite track is. This week, it's this frenchie little tune.
The Hot Toddies - "Only With You" from Get Your Heart On
We've been smitten with the Hot Toddies ever since they blessed Seattle with a sexy theme song back in 2006 (you can hear it on our November 2006 podcast). Earlier this year they released a new album, Get Your Heart On, and as you would expect, it's sweet and a tad risqué. Our favorite track from it is this lovey little song, "Only With You."
The Red River - "I Will Give Thanks" from Little Songs About the Big Picture
Pulling from a treasure trove of Neutral Milk Hotel-esque jams and unassuming vocals a la The Gazetteers, I'm smitten with this Long Beach, Cali band who isn't afraid to pull in a horn section and xylophone to fill out their boy next door sound.
The Rest - "John Huston" from a forthcoming album
With a wink to shoegazer mixtapes and a Canadian work ethic, this sampling from the forthcoming album from The Rest has me very excited for 2011!
